This post is for informational purposes only. So that all parents who are faced with dysplasia in their children have as much information as possible.

In St. Petersburg there is an institute named after Turner, where children are usually sent as a last resort or to correct complications that arose during treatment. Or they go there themselves. In this post I will tell you exactly how to go there on your own. Since the number of parents who went there with their children is gradually growing, I propose to additionally share their experience so that the message is as informative as possible.

IMPORTANT: Any child can receive free treatment at the Turner Institute upon referral. But paid is easier and faster. The Turner Institute does not cast children with dysplasia, unless it is a period of rehabilitation after surgery.

Which doctor is better to see? To anyone. All are competent specialists. It is only worth mentioning Sergei Yuryevich Voloshin (Head of the Consultative and Diagnostic Department).

1. If you have any questions, you can send an email with the subject line “CONSULTATION” (in capital letters). List of MANDATORY data and files for consultation (the total size of files should not exceed 20 MB):

* Child’s full name, date of birth, home address, contact phone number, parent/guardian name

* Extract from the medical history;

* X-rays

*Photos of the child showing problem areas

* Results of additional tests (if available)

The answer comes within a week (usually on Wednesdays).

1. Recording. Registration two months in advance. Or just come on Wednesday morning for a fee. You will have to find out the availability of a doctor yourself in advance.

2. Travel by public transport

* Minibus K-287 from Moskovskaya metro station. Be prepared to search for it for about ten minutes. It departs from Demonstration Passage, but not from the metro itself. To the Orlovskie Vorota stop.

* Train from Vitebsky station to Detskoe Selo station. Minibus/bus 378 (on the opposite side of the roundabout) to the Orlovskie Vorota stop.

*From the airport ONLY by taxi. Or by bus to Moskovskaya station, but this is pointless.

If you say “To Voloshin,” you will be allowed in without documents.

2. To the right behind the checkpoint, we enter the department. Downstairs wardrobe. Let's go upstairs. There are two queues: for registration and for payment. If you are paying, then get into both at once. First, at the registry they create a card according to the parent’s passport and the child’s birth certificate (then only with this it will be possible to receive a card), with this card you go to pay for the primary (secondary..) admission. They accept payment by cards and cash.

3. You have a ticket with your appointment time in your hands. Go to the queue. The queue may be due to time, or it may be due to the fact (depending on your luck), this issue is resolved on the spot. It's better to arrive around ten in the morning. Sergei Yuryevich can conduct an appointment from nine, eleven or from one o’clock - in general, from any time, since if he is in surgery, then all he can do is wait. If you arrive at ten, then by about two or three o’clock in the afternoon you will already be free.

4. After the examination, you receive (or do not receive, if you are lucky) a referral for an x-ray. Go up one floor and go to the end of the corridor. After the x-ray, you pay for it and pick up the image with the receipt. Back to the doctor's office.

5. If they are sent to a prosthetic workshop (custom tires are made there), then payment is ONLY in cash. ATM at the entrance to the institute near security.

If there is any doubt, you will be sent to the Turner Institute for a photograph. But in Mont Blanc it is much cozier and calmer, plus, there is a queue there that is fair and in accordance with the registration.
