We understand “beautification” as a set of procedures aimed at improving a person’s appearance and correcting the proportions of the face and body.
This complex is based on contour plastic methods, however, contour plastic is not fully beautification, because some patients may need correction with Botox/Xeomin, thread methods, others will need to remove pigment, blood vessels, etc., etc. P.
The main task of our cosmetologists is to make the patient’s face more attractive and youthful. Therefore, even a banal correction of bags under the eyes can be called “beautification”; sometimes these corrections are also called “harmonization”.
The uniqueness of beauty is that a set of procedures for each person is planned individually: some need to change the tip of their nose, raise the tail of their eyebrows and enlarge their lips, while for others it is enough to undergo blepharoplasty to noticeably transform.
So, the main tasks of beauty are:
- General rejuvenation of the patient
- Young oval face
- Elimination of local aesthetic imperfections on the face
What procedures are done during Beautyification?
As already noted, beauty is based on contouring procedures . The reason for this is simple: you can give the oval of the face a youthful shape only by “working” with the volume of the face. In some cases, the same effect can be achieved by introducing threads with notches: pulling the facial tissue up to give it a V-shape.
However, if the patient notices wrinkles, then it is also advisable to eliminate them ( botulinum therapy or blanching ). It is also necessary to pay attention to complexion - the skin should be “clean” and uniform in color. Laser resurfacing will help eliminate scars and post-acne ; pigment spots and blood vessels – IPL therapy .
What is beauty in cosmetology? A new trend in facial harmonization.
Beautyification is a relatively new trend in aesthetic medicine. Initially, this term appeared among plastic surgeons, but now this concept has become complex. It includes the tandem work of both plastic surgeons and cosmetologists. Beautyification also corresponds to such a term as facial harmonization. It implies a complex effect on the face, but its task is not rejuvenation, but harmonization of the appearance, making the features more attractive and natural, improving appearance, and correcting facial proportions. In terms of their impact, the results tend as closely as possible to the “golden ratio” (ideal).
When contacting a cosmetologist, this complex is based on methods of contour plastic surgery (correction with fillers), however, contour plastic surgery is not full beauty, because some patients may need correction with botulinum toxin, thread methods, others will need to remove pigmentation, blood vessels , improve the quality of the skin, restore a fresh, rested appearance.
The uniqueness of beauty is that a set of procedures for each person is planned individually: for some, it is necessary to change the shape of the chin, make the oval of the face clearer, raise the tail of the eyebrows and slightly adjust the shape of the lips, while for others it is enough to undergo blepharoplasty to noticeably transform. Therefore, there cannot be a universal solution here; all procedures are selected individually during consultation.
There is a clear trend in aesthetic medicine towards patient rejuvenation. The fashion among young people for cosmetic procedures is associated with the cult of success, prosperity and attractiveness. Therefore, the introduction of cosmetology programs for 20-30 year olds is more important than ever.
Such procedures can be done at almost any age, starting from 18 years. Why at 18-20, a logical question arises. The answer is simple. And at 20 years old there can be asymmetry of the face, and at 25 there may be pronounced circles under the eyes, and at 30 there can be a sad, tired expression on the face. There is no point in waiting and reaching some imaginary generally accepted age to eliminate such features. You can enjoy the reflection in the mirror now.
Such a complex may include:
Peels, hardware cosmetology, contouring (volume correction with fillers), botulinum therapy (Botox), thread lifting.
In some cases, beautification can be carried out in one procedure, in others it may take 1-3 months. Here it all depends on what procedures will be chosen for aesthetic reasons and how carefully one has to work on the quality of facial tissue (skin, volumes).
In recent years, patients at cosmetology clinics have become younger. First of all, this is due to scientific progress and the successes of modern cosmetology, as new technologies and new safe materials appear, expanding the range of aesthetic services. If earlier, see a cosmetologist
were treated only to eliminate age-related changes, now any imperfections in appearance and skin problems, regardless of age, become a reason for carrying out certain procedures. And this is a very good trend. People get used to regularly taking care of themselves, which significantly prolongs their youth.
Now the modern generation of 40-50 year old women looks much better than their mothers and grandmothers did in the same years.
Of course, the success of cosmetology plays an important role here.
It is extremely important to approach the patient individually. In order to choose the right accent in each specific case, the doctor must have a developed aesthetic sense and sufficient experience - only then the perception of the face will change for the better.”

Triangles of youth
A young face, regardless of its shape, is a triangle, pointing downwards, and the base of the triangle runs along the line of the forehead. As we age and age-related changes appear, this triangle gradually blurs, transforms and slides, and on an older face it is already turned upside down at the level of the cheeks, and the bottom of the triangle runs along the bottom of the oval of the face.
In some of our patients, this picture was observed at a young age due to genetic and anthropometric characteristics.
This age triangle is further enhanced by emerging age-related disadvantages:
- nasolabial folds and tear troughs,
- lines of grief,
- drooping corners of the mouth,
- shaved,
- double chin and heavy lower face.
We can say that the face turns into a Christmas tree, the branches of which look down . No one experiences joy from such a tree, unlike the New Year's tree.
It is these “branches” that cosmetologists who want to rejuvenate the patient’s face will have to fight.
Correction of lips and perioral area
The following interventions can be carried out here:
- lip augmentation with synthetic fillers;
- lip augmentation by lipofilling;
- VY lip plastic - the operation involves cutting out a flap of the mucous membrane on the inside of the lip and moving it anteriorly so that the red border of the lip visually increases;
- bullhorn operation - excision of a section of skin under the nostrils and wings of the nose in order to reduce the height of the white part of the upper lip and slightly turn out the red part of the lip, visually enlarging it;
- corner lift - excision of skin areas above the corners of the mouth; allows you to lift the corners of your mouth;
- injections of botulinum toxin into the muscle that depresses the corner of the mouth (the effect of smoothing wrinkles running from the corners of the mouth downwards - “puppet” wrinkles), as well as a slight effect of raising the corners of the mouth);
- lipofilling or filler injections into “puppet” wrinkles.
Cost of beauty
As you might guess, the cost consists of the cost of the procedures performed and can vary from one patient to another: starting from 30,000 rubles and not stopping at 130,000 rubles.
The minimum volumes of drugs used during contouring (fillers) are 1.5-2 ml. For example, when leveling the line of the lower jaw and emphasizing the angle of the lower jaw, about 3 ml of Radiesse is used.
An example of correction of a young patient
Harmonization as an obstacle to aging
Omorphioplasty is performed in youth also because of its positive effect on the aging process. A harmonious face with correct proportions and without imbalance ages much more slowly, all deformations appear much later and are less pronounced.
After eye surgery, or nose reduction, removal of bags under the eyes, the skin better retains its elasticity and turgor, and later wrinkles appear. This is due to an even load on the skin, thanks to harmonious and symmetrical features.
A harmonious face ages much more slowly and more beautifully
Procedures
In aesthetic medicine, there is quite a lot of controversy about the order in which to eliminate age-related manifestations: from the general [oval of the face] to the specific [specific wrinkles] or vice versa. And when to do hardware procedures, if they are needed to give your face a youthful appearance.
Firstly, we strongly recommend doing all hardware procedures BEFORE correction of fillers or botulinum therapy.
After hardware procedures, we recommend to patients an approach from the specific to the general - firstly, it’s cheaper, and secondly, the changes are gradual and you won’t have to shock others!
But “where exactly should I start?”, “what age-related deficiencies highlight age more?” — everyone answers these questions for themselves, everyone has their own priorities.
Rhinoplasty and mentoplasty: comprehensive correction of facial proportions
Rhinoplasty in aesthetic surgery is always beautification, i.e. changing the size and shape of the nose is always aimed at harmonizing facial features. More details about rhinoplasty are written in the corresponding section, but here we will say that rhinoplasty can be performed simultaneously with other interventions on the face as part of a comprehensive beautification (upper/middle third lift, lipofilling, removal of Bisha's lumps, etc.). Simultaneous plastic surgery of the nose and chin can dramatically improve the profile line, and therefore this combined operation is often called profiloplasty. As for the methods of performing rhinoplasty and mentoplasty, they can be very different, from injection rhinoplasty with fillers to reconstruction of the nose from your own rib, from lipofilling to bone grafting of the chin.

Fighting asymmetry at home
It is possible and necessary to combat facial disproportion, because it affects the condition of our skin, appearance and, oddly enough, self-esteem. Modern medicine can offer hundreds of ways to solve the problem. However, not all of them will be effective or durable.
Of course, if asymmetry requires medical intervention, then it is best to contact a specialist. However, if the cause of the imbalance does not lie in health problems, then it is better to try to cope with it at home.
Below is a set of exercises that can be combined with face fitness training. For example, do an exercise on the forehead, and then an exercise aimed at correcting the asymmetry of this area.
Gymnastics exercises can be performed by people with both congenital and acquired defects. Many experts argue that this approach completely replaces drug treatment. However, it is important to take into account the fact that gymnastics does not always help. It is impossible to correct the imbalance if it is a consequence of fractures and other injuries.
Exercise 1
The first exercise is aimed at identifying asymmetry. Pay attention to your eyebrows, which one seems more active to you? Which one do you feel better?
Place your fingers in the area above the eyebrows. Then raise your eyebrows up, as if pushing your fingers, creating resistance. Make sure that you do not form wrinkles on your forehead while doing the exercise. Relax your shoulders and do not tense them, they should be down. After completing the exercise, lightly tap your forehead.
Exercise 2
Take the same position as in the first exercise. Now alternate between raising your eyebrows. Control the skin so that it does not bunch up.
Feel your eyebrows tense. The eyebrow that you feel discomfort when raising should be raised by 2 counts. After performing the exercise, tap your fingers on your forehead to relax the muscles.
Exercise 3
Exercise 4
Exercise 5
Using your index fingers, you need to fix the area of the nasolabial folds. Then lift the corners of your lips one by one. At the same time, your fingers should provide light resistance. Make sure your fingers always remain in one place. This exercise will lift the drooping corners of the lips and correct asymmetry.
Exercise 6
Squeeze your eyes as tight as possible and then open your eyes wide. This exercise will improve blood circulation in the temple area. Elimination of signs of mild strabismus is also guaranteed.
It is important to do gymnastics regularly. Don’t be lazy, spend at least 10 minutes on each exercise, making sure you perform the technique correctly. After some time, the result will become visible. You will be surprised how much your face will change.
Start doing gymnastics 1-2 times a week, twice a day, gradually increase the number of workouts to 4. Try to focus specifically on problem areas. Now you know how you can correct facial asymmetry at home, without resorting to the help of doctors and cosmetologists.
Let's sum it up

How to improve your facial profile or The dependence of facial aesthetics on the position of your teeth
All patients who consult an orthodontist know how the position of teeth determines the aesthetics of a smile, but many do not even suspect that the position of the teeth also determines the profile of the face.
To understand how orthodontic treatment affects changes in facial profile, let's look at the types of profiles.
Types of Face Profiles
Orthodontists usually use a conditional “profile line”
. This is the line that runs through the most prominent point of the chin and upper/lower lip. The relationship of this line to the nose is assessed.
Racial characteristics must be taken into account here.
How to determine your profile type at home?
Take a long ruler and place it edge-on to your chin. Maintaining contact at this point, bring the ruler closer to your face until it touches one of your lips (you may have to tilt the ruler slightly away from your nose to do this). Ask someone to take a photo (or take a selfie) of you in profile.
Rate the profile based on your photo:
Of course, it is worth making allowances for individual characteristics, such as the shape and size of the nose, lips, and, as already mentioned, race.
Possibilities of orthodontic treatment in improving facial profile.
As a rule, each type of profile corresponds to a certain type of bite and a certain position of the teeth.
And if there are no questions with the direct/harmonious type of profile, then malocclusions corresponding to (or rather, being the cause of) the 2nd and 3rd types - convex and concave - require special consideration.
Cause of convex profile
There may be types of bite in which:
1. The lateral teeth close correctly, while the front teeth protrude strongly forward.
Typically, this position of the teeth is corrected by removing the teeth behind the canines and “pushing” the front teeth into the vacant spaces:
Before | After |
Before | After |
2. The lower jaw is behind the upper jaw more than normal / the lower jaw is too small
During orthodontic treatment, the lower jaw “comes forward” and the profile improves:
Before | After |
Concave profile
, as a rule, is a consequence of a bite in which the lower jaw is “in front” of the upper jaw.
Orthodontic treatment helps to cope with the following situation:
Before | After |
There are cases when it is impossible to cope with orthodontic methods alone, and then orthognathic surgery comes to the rescue:
Before | After |
The benefits of orthodontics go far beyond just a beautiful smile. Change for the better! We can help you with this.

Is there a relationship between the volume of filler injected and the risk of complications after injection?
Let's just say there is no direct connection. That is, it cannot be said that if a large amount of the drug was administered to the patient, a complication will necessarily arise. But, definitely, with the amount of filler, the possibility of complications increases, both associated with injections, that is, vascular complications, and complications associated with the general appearance of the patient, that is, what is called “hyaluronic faces.” For about five years now I have been promoting the idea that you need to inject very little and in very necessary places. This is what I presented five years ago in Paris. Previously, most experts boldly said that this does not work, and you need to inject 4 syringes on one side and 3 syringes on the other, and then everything will be fine. But now everything has changed, and now everyone agrees that one or two syringes are enough for the entire face. Of course, the fewer injections, the lower the likelihood of complications - this is pure mathematics. But to make sure that there are no complications at all is anatomy, knowledge and experience.
Beauty standards - what we measure up to
As noted above, harmonization is a very individual process. Together with the patient’s surgeon, he considers possible options and seeks balance in appearance. In this process, several main factors are taken into account (if we are talking about a face):
- Golden ratio rule;
- Face type;
- Features of appearance.
In the process of forming a surgical plan, not only the principle of the golden section is taken into account, but also the law of the aesthetic triangle, popular in plastic surgery. According to which, for example, the nasolabial goal with the forehead should be from 115 to 125 degrees.
It is important to consider your face shape to find harmonious features
Proper correlation of features in “star” faces of different types
Facial harmonization allows you to achieve an appearance that is close to perfection, but you should understand that this procedure is quite expensive, because it involves several operations simultaneously. At the same time, the cost of omorphioplasty is quite high, but at the same time it allows you to get a beautiful face with balanced features and the correct ratio of lines. In the long term, this procedure is much cheaper than a separate “rework” of all problem areas, and the result is much better, since the balance and rules of harmonious appearance are respected.

About body proportions
Ksenia Avdoshenko, surgeon at the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology
Recently, we often hear that the requirements for aesthetic medicine, as well as for general medicine, have changed: it is wrong to improve or treat one area of the body in isolation, but the correct thing is to engage in complex correction, the result of which will be overall harmony and health. Thus, at the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology, we often talk not about liposuction of a separate area, but about a whole complex of body contouring operations, which include liposuction of different parts of the body, abdominoplasty, plastic surgery of the hips, shoulders and mammary glands. Conventionally, this can be called harmonization of the body. And the most interesting thing is that they can be used not only by patients with a large excess of adipose tissue, but also by those who have only a couple of extra pounds, which are not amenable to any sports activities and are the only obstacle to the body of their dreams.
Ksenia Avdoshenko, surgeon at the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology
We are talking about fat traps. In these areas, adipose tissue is quite dense, it is poorly supplied with blood and, even with severe weight loss, is the last to melt. Our surgeons have at their disposal an endoscopic abdominoplasty technique that allows, only through an incision in the navel, to eliminate diastasis of the rectus abdominis muscles, which, for example, occurs in every woman after childbirth. We often use a Body Jet water-jet liposuction device in our work.
Through punctures under the skin into the area of fatty tissue, the surgeon inserts a cannula, which delivers a powerful stream of saline solution that breaks up the fat cells. The damaged fat cells are then removed from the body using a special vacuum. A month in compression underwear - and you get ideal proportions.
How to identify asymmetry
In order to understand whether there is asymmetry or not, you will need a very ordinary pen or ruler to measure your face. Concentrate on the eyebrow line, the outer corners of the eyes, the wings of the nose, the corners of the lips and cheekbones. Using these lines you can determine how smooth your face is.
Deviations from the axis of symmetry of no more than 5 degrees or 3-6 mm are considered normal. Everything else is considered a disproportion and requires intervention.
It is logical that if the pen/ruler is in a level position, then the asymmetry is minimal or non-existent. In the case of slight distortions, it becomes clear which line needs to be worked on.
The other way is much easier. Just take your photo. Remove your hair, stand up straight, and make sure the light falls evenly. Then, from the photograph, you can also measure all the above lines with a ruler, which will be somewhat simpler.
How to Fix Your Facial Profile
Small differences are considered normal and are even practically unnoticeable. In other cases, if the asymmetry is visible to the naked eye, people develop complexes and even nervous disorders. A certain percentage of patients turn to plastic surgeons to correct the hated asymmetry of some facial elements. However, it is worth noting that this disease can be dealt with at home.
