Causes of the disease
In ophthalmology, it is customary to distinguish three main types of trichiasis:
- Idiopathic, when the cause of its occurrence cannot be determined.

- Diathermocoagulation is a procedure performed along the eyelash growth with a needle electrode up to the eyelash hair follicle. In the case of distichiasis, diathermocoagulation of individual remaining eyelashes is possible only several months after the operation of resection of the entire area of the eyelid edge.
