Every girl strives to make her lips sexy, even out their shape, and give them volume. For this reason, many cosmetologists decide to take courses in order to be able to perform lip contouring. It is important to them that their customers remain satisfied. And for this you need to be able to choose the right drugs and in no case cause harm. Get not just superficial knowledge, but deep skills. There are criteria for selecting training courses. Below we will look at them in detail.
…
How to choose contouring courses
When choosing a lip contouring training course, you need to pay attention to certain points. Duration and cost come last on the list of criteria.
When choosing a suitable course of study, pay attention to:
- Teaching Staff;
- how the training scheme is structured;
- what diplomas and certificates are issued;
- what kind of knowledge will you be able to leave with after completing the courses, and so on.
Investing in yourself, in education and in improving your own skills is a profitable, effective investment. An informed choice of lip contouring courses is a guarantee that you will be able to quickly build a career in the beauty industry.
By choosing the right form of training, you can master professional correction and facial rejuvenation skills in 2-3 dozen academic hours. Additionally, there is an opportunity to learn how to communicate with clients and take a minimum training course on medications used in lip correction.
Lip augmentation training
Plump lips add expressiveness and sexuality to the face and overall image. But many of the girls, whom nature has not endowed with the desired lip shape, are very afraid of all kinds of surgical interventions, rehabilitation periods, anesthesia and consequences. Is it possible to achieve the lips you want without surgery? Lip contouring will be an excellent solution for girls who do not want to go under the surgeon’s knife.
This procedure is based on the injection of a filler drug into the lips. Fillers are created based on hyaluronic acid and vary in its concentration. The duration of the effect after the procedure depends on the quantitative content of hyaluronic acid contained in the preparation. Since this acid is a natural component of the human body, preparations based on it will not cause tissue rejection. Plus, after some time, hyaluronic acid will naturally undergo biochemical breakdown. Therefore, the duration of the effect of contouring is strictly individual and usually ranges from six months to a year.
For lip augmentation and contouring, 2 main methods are used: traditional injections with fillers and vertical needling. Synthetic fillers are being chosen less and less often. More often, injections are given with hyaluronic, lactic acid, collagen, and fat cells. The effect lasts no more than 16 months. These fillers combine well with similar substances found in the human body. There is no rejection, no allergic reactions occur.
Vertical piping allows you to give your lips a more natural appearance. When expressing emotions, the muscles can move, which looks natural. In cosmetology, the effect of vertical chipping was called “Paris sponges”. The same fillers are used, but the filler is distributed differently in the layers of the skin. The filler does not affect the functioning of nerve fibers, reflexivity is preserved.
The most popular fillers are:
- collagen, the effect is visible immediately, but lasts 3 months;
- gel with hyaluronic acid, sponges increase in size within 10 days, the shape is retained for up to 16 months;
- calcium hydroxyapatite; is an organic substance, the result is visible immediately, is excreted from the body after a year;
- gel with lactic acid allows you to preserve beautiful sponges for 2 years;
- fat cells, lipofilling, the result lasts up to 10 years.
How is the lip augmentation procedure performed?
As mentioned earlier, the procedure is not surgical, but injection, which means there are no incisions.
- The first stage is anesthesia. Anesthesia of the lips can be done either with an injection or with the help of a special gel, which, however, is more expensive than an injection. However, anesthesia is not a mandatory step; it is only an option for patients who are very sensitive to injections.
- The second stage is the actual injection of the filler. This is the main part of the procedure: using shallow (up to five millimeters) punctures of the lips with needles, the drug is delivered to the desired location.
- After introducing the filler, the cosmetologist gently massages the lips to achieve the most even distribution.
- At the end of the procedure, you must apply cooling compresses to your lips for an hour.
Immediately after the procedure, bruising and swelling may occur at the injection sites, but they go away quite quickly. In the first days after lip contouring, you should avoid hypothermia, air travel, and prolonged exposure to sunlight.
In general, the entire procedure takes from twenty to forty minutes. The complete absence of a rehabilitation period, with the possible exception of minor swelling that subsides after a couple of days, the absence of surgical intervention, the speed and simplicity of the procedure are tangible advantages of lip contouring over plastic surgery.
Despite the fact that lip contouring is not plastic surgery, the procedure must be performed by a professional! It is necessary to use high-quality, original and reliable drugs, maintaining sterility and being attentive to the client’s condition. Then the result of the procedure will bring only pleasant impressions.

Teaching Staff
It is clear that the theory can be told by every person more or less knowledgeable in cosmetology. But the practical part of training is also necessary. Firstly, it must be included in the courses. Under no circumstances should you enroll in a center where only one theory is present. Practice is the most important part.
Secondly, the lessons should be taught by practicing cosmetologists with higher education, working in beauty salons or having a serious relationship with cosmetology. You should also study the number of positive reviews about the training center.
If teachers meet these requirements, you need to register. Only with such a strong teaching staff and a well-developed program can you be sure that contouring training will be at the highest level.
The practical part of cosmetology courses is the most important
How a coach without a medical education taught lip augmentation to 1.5 thousand cosmetologists
While Roszdravnadzor is clearing out plastic surgery clinics, a criminal scandal is brewing in the related cosmetology market. As Vademecum has learned, the Onegin Law Group plans to send to the Investigative Committee of Russia a statement of harm to the health of a patient who received complications after contouring performed by popular industry coach Emelyan Braude. Since December last year, Braude, who does not have a medical education, has taught the technique of lip augmentation with the piquant name “tight pussy” to more than 1,500 cosmetologists throughout Russia at his own master classes, earning at least 20 million rubles from the events.
According to the managing partner of the Onegin Law Group, Olga Zinovieva, her trustee from Dagestan (the lawyers do not disclose the name of the victim) learned from her cosmetologist that Braude would be holding a master class in one of the clinics in Makhachkala. “No one carried out any procedures related to sanitary cleanliness - the patient was not offered to change clothes, she was immediately laid on the couch,” says Zinovieva. - Emelyan himself was in casual clothes - a jacket, jeans, sneakers, even his hair was not tied up. Neither the victim nor other patients were asked to sign the papers documenting the procedure (agreement, informed voluntary consent).
According to the lawyer, the manipulation was carried out personally by Braude. “When the filler was injected into the bridge of the nose, the tip of the victim’s nose turned black, to which Braude explained that this was a reaction to lidocaine. Immediately after the procedure, the victim's eye orbit turned black, pain, burning and a feeling of sand in the eye appeared, and swelling of the eyelids and forehead skin developed. No medical assistance other than an ice compress was offered, and the patient was sent home without any recommendations,” says the lawyer. Subsequent attempts by her trustee to contact Braude were unsuccessful; he “stated that this was not his doing and blocked the victim’s phone.” The woman, according to Zinovieva, was forced to receive “specific treatment from a plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist” for several weeks. “All stages of the manipulation were recorded on video; the victim recorded the stages of development of the complication using photographs, which will significantly facilitate the work of forensic experts,” warns Zinovieva.
The Onegin Law Group has prepared relevant statements and in the near future plans to send them to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Federation Investigative Committee for the Republic of Dagestan and to the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region. “From a legal point of view, we are dealing with a classic impostor who has serious legal restrictions, does not have the right to engage in medical practice and even approach patients, but performs invasive manipulations that are harmful in nature,” Zinovieva is sure. According to the lawyer, the actions of the citizen acting under the name Emelyan Braude contain signs of crimes under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet security requirements) and Art. 235 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal engagement in medical activities, resulting in negligence in causing harm to health).
A Facebook user who introduces himself on the social network as “Emelyan Braude”, in a dialogue with Vademecum, refutes the patient’s lawyer’s statements: “No, this is a lie, of course. She [the patient. – Vademecum] is healthy. The incident took place, but it had less to do with me than with her doctor at the seminar. For my part, I provided her with financial assistance and consultation with therapy.” Our interlocutor refused to confirm or deny that he personally administered injections to the patient: “I will not discuss her case without her permission. This is the difference between the jackals who imagine themselves to be red-diploma students and adherents of medical ethics, and me. What happened there is nobody's business except the participants. The case was complex, and it was not my fault - the doctor violated these instructions.” Braude did not specify what kind of filler the injection was made with, only noting that only “certified drugs, strictly without lidocaine,” were presented at the seminar.
According to cosmetologists interviewed by Vademecum, Emelyan Braude appeared on the market several years ago, but not as a teacher, but as a courier who brought them various cosmetic products, including Juvederm fillers from Allergan. “Sometimes you have to wait several days for official deliveries from companies, but Emelyan delivered products immediately, even on Sunday,” says one of Vademecum’s interlocutors. Allergan Marketing Director Natalia Gavrilova claims that Braude is not known at her company. Braude himself describes the period of entering the market as follows: “I started by collaborating with one of the doctors, she purchased products from manufacturers at a discount, and I took them to other cosmetologists. The company couriers were late, but I always carried the bottles with me and arrived very quickly. Then he began to work with other doctors, hired other couriers. My work is logistics; I have made 8 thousand deliveries personally.” Braude emphasizes that he worked exclusively with products registered in Russia, which his doctor partners purchased at a discount from suppliers.
In December 2022, he began organizing master classes where he taught doctors the “tight pussy” technique and other injection techniques. According to the doctors who attended Braude's seminars, the main advantage of the technique he proposed was the saving of the injection product - 0.3-0.5 ml instead of the traditional 1-2 ml, and also that the technique allows you to simultaneously increase the volume and lengthen the lip line - usually Achieving this effect requires a combination of techniques.
Another innovation promoted by Braude on Instagram is injections of the botulinum toxin emelianox. True, according to the promoter, he himself does not give botulinum toxin injections, and calls messages about them a joke and viral advertising. Braude says he gives injections at seminars, but only to doctors and with their permission, and all the products he uses have marketing authorizations. However, for some reason Braude did not name the drugs or present the relevant documents to Vademecum.
According to the coach’s own estimates, since last year he has trained more than 1,500 doctors in various injection techniques, but in September he plans to complete the “tour” of Russia and continue working in Europe. The last three master classes will be held in Mozdok, Nalchik and Nazran. The organizer of Braude’s seminars in the North Caucasian Federal District, Emilia, told a Vademecum correspondent who introduced herself as a cosmetologist that at the planned events the coach will teach cosmetologists contour plastic surgery using Dermaren filler (there is no registration certificate in Russia) and do injections himself. The cost of participation in the seminar for one specialist is 15 thousand rubles. If we take into account this price and the number of doctors he has already trained, stated by Braude, it turns out that the revenue of the author’s educational project exceeds 20 million rubles.
At a seminar in Makhachkala, Emilia reported, Braude demonstrated injections with the botulinum toxin emelianox (there is no toxin with that name in the State Register of Medicines). Vademecum failed to locate legal entities associated with Braude. In SPARK-Interfax, the phrase “Emelyan Braude” is not found either in the names of companies or among co-owners or managers of enterprises. Among the companies owned or headed by people named Emelyan, there is not a single one that is related to cosmetology or educational services. The organizer of the seminars, Emilia Braude, suggested that the Vademecum correspondent, who introduced himself as a cosmetologist, transfer money for participation in the master class to a Sberbank card. According to Sberbank.Online, the card named by Emilia is registered in the name of “Zukhra Ashikovna A”. There is no data in SPARK about organizations where such a person would act as a director or co-owner.
The industry is wary of Braude's activity, to put it mildly. Cosmetologist Oksana Lozovik, for example, created the Antibraude community on social networks. “I saw his [Braude’s] account on Instagram, followed the link and discovered wild things - absolute unsanitary conditions, blood running down the patients’ backs, their hair in a bloody wound,” says Lozovik. – I am not only a cosmetologist, but also a trainer, and like no one else I understand how dangerous this is, and not only for the patient’s appearance, but sometimes for his life. Two days later, I wrote posts on Instagram and Facebook and collected a lot of responses. It turned out that people have been watching this bacchanalia for months, doctors are discussing these techniques in closed groups - and nothing happens.”
Beauty industry analyst Elena Moskvicheva published a material in the Aesthetic Guide publication entitled “Arrogance is the second happiness. Does this work in cosmetology?”, in which he states that “Braude promotes technologies and products prohibited for use in the Russian Federation.” In addition, Moskvicheva wrote a corresponding appeal to Roszdravnadzor of the Russian Federation. The department admitted that fillers from the Dermaren line do not have registration certificates in Russia and can lead to harm to the life and health of citizens, and also forwarded Moskvicheva’s appeal to the Economic Safety and Internal Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow (a copy of the appeal is posted on the Aesthetic Guide website).
And many cosmetologists do not believe in the coach himself, as in a real-life character, believing that “Emelyan Braude” is a pseudonym for a group of “gray” market operators. Vademecum’s interlocutor on Facebook claims that his name is really Emelyan, and the surname belongs to his great-grandfather, but he does not open his “passport”. The anonymous author provided a few more details of his biography - he allegedly has two higher educations, the first received from the Faculty of Philosophy of MGIMO, where he was supervised by Andrei Zubov. He did not mention the second university. In addition, he “collaborated” with the biology department of Moscow State University, “wrote a scientific work on statistics,” his scientific supervisor was Professor Simon Shnol. True, both professors claim that they do not remember a student named Emelyan.
Whatever the outcome of the Braude incident, his image illustrates a serious industry problem. Now, according to the Vademecum Analytical Center, the share of the “gray” market, namely services using products not registered in Russia, at home, by specialists who do not have a cosmetologist certificate, exceeds 50% in a number of segments. “The problem needs to be solved systematically, a working group must be created from representatives of the police, the Ministry of Health, the Federal Customs Service, and lawyers who will find ways to combat various forms of the “gray” market,” says CEO Kirill Yastrebchikov. “Now everything is turned upside down.” In one of the regions we cooperate with an absolutely transparent distributor that works only with legal products. She complained many times to local law enforcement agencies about “gray” dealers, but her appeals were left unanswered. And when, thanks to a competent marketing policy, she began to take market share from one of these dealers, he also wrote an appeal, and very soon they came to her with a check.”
Paradoxically, Braude himself dreams of a legal future for cosmetology: “During the crisis, countless cosmetologists at home appeared, our, in fact, clients. Distributors are hit hard. There is also a market for counterfeits - “black” and very criminal. But we work in a “gray” market, where there is no danger of physical violence, and I want to build an absolutely “white” company. In general, this is an unhappy business - the cosmetological transformation of a woman is a deception, and it is very difficult to build something honest around the initial deception.”

Form of study
When choosing courses, pay attention to the form in which the lessons will be taught. Necessary equipment and materials required for practice must be provided by the training center.
It is also important to pay attention to the number of places in one group of students. If there are 15 or more of them, the course is not worth attention. Teachers will not be able to work individually with each cosmetologist and teach him how to properly contour his lips. It is optimal to teach in a group of 6-7 people.
Vocational training results
If you use an integrated approach when choosing courses on lip contouring, you can become a real professional. Typically, after 30-40 hours of training, a cosmetologist is guaranteed to gain knowledge in such matters as:
- what is hyaluronic acid and where is it used;
- what fillers can be used to correct lips;
- what effects can be achieved;
- who is contraindicated to inject lip fillers;
- what sanitary, hygienic and legal aspects exist in the work of a cosmetologist.
In addition to the knowledge acquired in a professional training center, a doctor who has completed qualified courses will receive the following skills:
- determining the amount of the drug based on the characteristics of the patient;
- drawing up an individual approach to lip and face correction;
- selection of cosmetic products necessary for quality care after the procedure;
- selection of hardware and injection cosmetology techniques to obtain the best result;
- possession of information regarding trends in the field of modern cosmetology and aesthetic medicine.
Competently, professionally organized courses devote many hours to demonstration and practical parts. They are necessary for practicing skills on models.
Master classes in the area being studied are held throughout the entire training. This is an excellent opportunity to immediately consolidate the acquired theoretical knowledge. Under the supervision of professionals and experienced cosmetologists, you can learn how to position your hands correctly, administer medications and perform other necessary manipulations.
Having completed good cosmetologist courses, the master will perfectly know the direction of muscle fibers and the location of blood vessels. Understand the depth of the layered arrangement of tissues. A professional cosmetologist will be able to see where the end of the needle is and how the gel will be distributed at the injection site. It will be able to work without errors, which is very important not only for the beauty of clients, but also for their health.
Thanks to this form of training, the cosmetologist will continue to work with different people and will be able to select suitable brands of drugs for them, based on the characteristics of the body, the presence or absence of allergies.
The practical part will include not only the usual simple cases of correction, but also quite complex ones. Future specialists will be able to learn how to get out of this or that situation.
Upon completion of highly qualified training courses, graduates are issued certificates and diplomas of international standard. Thanks to this, it will be possible to work in the capital, in other large cities and even abroad.
The selected courses will be an excellent start to the career of a novice cosmetologist and an already practicing specialist. In the second case, this is a way to improve your skills.

PART 1. 7 HOURS THEORY

, doctor, plastic surgeon, MD Skin Solutions certified trainer, Training trainer.
The main difference between the work of a plastic surgeon and a cosmetologist is that the surgeon sees the tissues with which he works, while the cosmetologist is forced to “feel” them.
For this, a cosmetologist vitally needs knowledge in the field of topographic anatomy. To understand the layering of structures and their relative position and to be able to answer the main question using external and palpation landmarks - “where is the end of the needle now?”
It is to expand the knowledge of doctors on practical topographic anatomy that this seminar was created, designed in such a way as to be as useful as possible for both a young specialist and someone who has been working for a long time, but has “closed” work areas.
Tuition fee - 8,000 rubles
.
Please note: CA does not provide models for this MK.
