Expectations come true
Cosmetologists know how important it is to have a product that fully meets our needs and expectations in our work. And when the need arises to even out the skin texture, tighten the oval, achieve lifting, rejuvenate the skin or solve problems with pigmentation, scars, wrinkles and congestion, we choose time-tested products and are convinced of their quality for the hundredth time.
Depending on the skin type and problem, we can use different types of peelings - with different combinations of acids, with different percentages of ingredients and the ability to exfoliate skin cells. But a separate niche is always occupied by a product from the famous Christina brand - natural peeling Rose de Mer.
This product needs no introduction. Experts often choose Rose de Mer - there are fewer contraindications for it, and its effectiveness is in no way inferior to chemical peels.
Coral peeling Rose de Mer from Christina - my experience and impressions
My skin can be called good if you look at it objectively. Subjectively, gray complexion, pigmentation, unevenness, clogged pores, blackheads do not allow me to sit quietly and not try to do something. Oh yes, there are also small creases appearing on the forehead and in the nasolabial folds. From the first peeling in my life, I expected an improvement in complexion, renewed skin to soft and smooth. In general, no extra tasks, just to get myself in order, because my home care, no matter how wonderful it was, has to some extent stopped coping with the situation.
Dear girls!
Under the cut there are unaesthetic photographs of post-peeling peelings, so please be prepared for those who are especially impressionable, or do not go under the cut! I described my aspirations and wishes to the cosmetologist, and she offered me coral peeling. I trust her, so I gladly agreed. The peeling is two-phase, first the part with corrals, then the part with algae. After this, another product is applied, and a post-peeling foundation is applied on top. Coral peeling comes in different concentrations; I was given the most hardcore version. If we talk about sensations, then, of course, there is a whole bouquet. The first phase of peeling is reminiscent of rubbing the face with sandpaper or some kind of sand, which is essentially not far from reality, because the skin is rubbed with crushed corals. I really don’t like pain, I can’t stand it and don’t want it, in general I’m quite demanding in terms of comfort - this is anamnesis. So the sensations from peeling are unpleasant, but quite tolerable. When rubbed, the skin begins to burn and tingle, then the mixture is left to dry and the unpleasant sensations stop, but the face begins to burn and seems to pulsate (this affects the blood flow). After the mixture dries, it is removed, which returns us to the wonderful feeling of “sandpaper in the face.” The cosmetologist did a manual cleaning of blackheads on my nose and chin. Looking ahead, I will say that after the procedure, for the first time in my adult life, I saw my face without this scourge. Impressive! The next phase is liquid with algae, as I understand it. It causes tingling and tightens the skin - unpleasant, but tolerable. Following this, they applied another product to me - it stung and burned, but after about 10 minutes a cooling sensation appeared and the skin calmed down. When the product had dried, the cosmetologist applied me a post-peeling foundation, which I personally have been delighted with for a long time. It has a pleasant texture, a powerful spf factor and the ability to completely hide redness from interventions.
During the day, the skin burned and there was some tightness. There was an unpleasant tingling sensation from the touch, the skin was very sensitive. After 12 hours I needed to wash my face and apply Bepanten to my face, which I did. I like to sleep with my face in the pillow, I thought it would be unpleasant, but no
On the second day, in the morning, I washed my face with clean water, examined my face and decided that everything was not bad at all and I definitely wouldn’t scare people on the street. Slightly red skin, slight swelling was still present, but no one except me noticed it.
According to the law of universal piggishness, it was on this day that the very spring sun was shining in Kyiv, from which I had to hide behind sunscreen. In my case, it was a children's screen with 50 spf, which lay on the face with a very trendy dewy layer, in the sun the face shone like a pancake :)) It looked ugly, but what can you do? The unpleasant sensations have passed, if you don’t stretch the skin and don’t touch your face again, then you completely forget that anything was done to it. In the evening I washed my face with La Roche-Posay soap; water alone seemed not enough to wash off the spf. After washing my face, my face felt tight and I felt terribly dry, my chin even peeled a little. I urgently applied Bepanten, it stung a little, but ultimately brought relief. The blackheads on my nose and chin appeared again, but this is more of a shadow of my real blackheads. Of course, I had no illusions about complete removal, because this is primarily a feature of my sebum, which oxidizes and darkens. But there was still a little hope
Friday.
The first peeling appeared on the chin, during the day they spread upward, onto the wings of the nose and around. There were no unpleasant sensations, but my face began to itch a little. Tolerable, but the realization that it was impossible to scratch made it itch even more
Saturday.
Half of my face peeled off . It didn’t look very good, but probably not too noticeable, since people didn’t shy away from me on the streets. When washing, the skin under the palms is as if the last exfoliation was half a year ago.
Then the skin came off the way it comes off after a sunburn - in thin flakes, strings or something. In general, no dense crust, wounds, etc. On the fifth day, I started using my usual skincare routine because I realized that my skin was ready. I want to say that I immediately noticed how much better my skin began to accept serums and creams, this is heaven and earth!
After complete exfoliation, I got the following result:
Very soft and even skin, smooth and tender, like a child’s; Reduction of blackheads on the nose. They haven’t disappeared, and they can’t, but they have become much less noticeable; All care is absorbed much better and faster, even oils; Makeup applies perfectly, foundation consumption has decreased; The complexion has become healthier, less dull and gray; I noticed a slight lifting effect in the changed relief of the nasolabial folds.
What didn't happen: The pigmentation stayed with me. It seems to have brightened up a little, but there is still something to work on; Post-acne, although I have small ones and not a lot of them (and they will go away with time), have not gone away;
I also developed several inflammations, mainly along the jawline. The snail cream helped me deal with them, although I still managed to pick one out *slaps hands*. The crease on my forehead immediately after exfoliation became more obvious, but I attribute this to the forced abandonment of my usual care, in particular the Mizon hyaluronic serum. Two weeks later (i.e. a week after the introduction of care) everything almost smoothed out.
Overall, I am pleased with the result, I plan to continue the course of peelings, I just have to decide what they will be. There is a contraindication for acid peels - the lactation period, and this is just about me. Coral peeling does not have such a contraindication, which is, in general, rare. I think the result on my face is excellent, I am very interested in how the skin will look after several procedures. Can I recommend the procedure? Probably, only a cosmetologist can recommend this based on the needs of your skin. I can only advise not to be afraid if you have been wanting it for a long time and feel what you need, but are afraid to take the plunge. Even the period of peeling is not so scary, my husband didn’t run away from me, and if you do the peeling on Wednesday evening, then the worst will happen on the weekend, unless you suddenly want to scare your colleagues. I hope you found it interesting! Marie.

Are there any contraindications and side effects?
Coral facial peeling from Christina is considered one of the most gentle cleanses. Despite this, it has a number of prohibitions that should not be treated carelessly - this can end disastrously for the person. Contraindications to the use of coral-based products:
- viral infections;
- herpes;
- injuries to the skin (burns, wounds, cracks);
- negative skin reaction to some components of the drug;
- heat;
- chronic diseases at the peak of exacerbation;
- cold;

Even if there are no prohibitions on the procedure, you need to be prepared for the fact that undesirable consequences may arise. This happens quite rarely, but it is better to know in advance what you can expect after using the composition. Among the side effects, women most often expect swelling of the face, profuse purulent rash, and exacerbation of infectious diseases.
How is the procedure performed?
There is no need for preliminary preparation before the manipulations - after the consultation, the cosmetologist can set a date for cleaning. The procedure is carried out according to the same scheme, regardless of which Christina brand product is used for cleaning. Only the time of the procedure can change - it depends on the depth of penetration of the composition and the defects that need to be removed.
Coral peeling protocol:
- The face is cleansed with special formulations to remove fat, dirt, and cosmetic residues.
- The cosmetologist prepares a mixture for cleaning; the concentration of active ingredients depends on the recommended depth of exposure, age, and characteristics of the dermis.
- The master applies an abrasive composition to areas of the face, neck, and décolleté (the duration of the procedure for surface exposure is 5 minutes, for deep penetration of active components into the epidermis - 10 minutes).
- With light massaging movements, the product is rubbed into the surface of the skin.
- A cooling compress is used to relieve irritation and discomfort.
- Residues of the drug are removed with wipes soaked in a special composition.
- A post-peeling gel is applied to prevent irritation; after it is absorbed, a protective cream is applied to prevent infection.
There are no unpleasant sensations during the manipulations. Patients feel only a slight burning and tingling sensation. Discomfort disappears immediately after cleaning and applying soothing compounds.

Exfoliation of the skin using products based on coral chips helps to quickly smooth out wrinkles and activate the work of the structural elements of the epidermis and dermis. The effectiveness of coral peeling is confirmed by positive reviews from clients of beauty salons and thousands of successfully performed procedures.
Properties of coral peeling
By doing peeling regularly, you can get rid of a variety of cosmetic problems. After the first sessions, the skin will acquire a beautiful color, its tone will be even, and its surface will be smooth. The procedure allows you to make even abundant stretch marks less noticeable, eliminate swelling and tone the epidermis.
- Natural peeling is an excellent way to combat natural skin aging. It not only reduces the number and depth of existing wrinkles, but also prevents their new appearance.
- The procedure is effective in eliminating pigmentation, including age-related ones.
- The ability of cleansing to eliminate post-acne scars should not be underestimated.
- Coral facial peeling will help get rid of acne even in the severe stage of its development.
- The abrasive particles of the solution remove dead skin cells and dirt, and the active substances help dissolve dirt and fat.
Many women prefer to do peeling at home. In this case, it is imperative to use proven and recommended cosmetics by professional cosmetologists, otherwise a positive result will not be achieved.
Healing period
After peeling, the face looks reddened and may feel tight and dry. The manufacturer recommends using a moisturizing toner and cream for quick recovery. To speed up regeneration, you need to follow simple rules:
- do not rub the skin, limit touching for several hours;
- Do not use comedogenic cosmetics for several days;
- Before going out, apply a protective agent with a high SPF factor;
- During the course you cannot sunbathe or visit a solarium;
- Maintaining water balance will help speed up the recovery process; you need to drink at least 2 liters of water per day.
This type of peeling can be used by socially active people; after use there is no peeling, and the very next day there are no traces of the procedure left. An excellent way to regularly gently cleanse to achieve a professional effect.
Peeling in the salon
Peeling "Christina", according to the manufacturer, is suitable for owners of any skin type, but it also has contraindications.
Contraindications for use
Contraindications to peelings include:
- Damage: scratches, wounds.
- Infectious diseases and inflammatory processes, fever.
- Taking vitamin A and its derivatives.
- Herpes is in the acute stage.
- Pregnancy and lactation.
- Allergy to components in the peeling mixture.
Please note: there are no contraindications for use on skin with age spots; moreover, peeling is recommended for removing areas of pigmentation.
Skin preparation
Those who decide to trust professionals and have exfoliation done in a salon must first prepare for the procedure.
Preparing for peeling is not very difficult:
- Two weeks before the procedure, you should not sunbathe, whether naturally or in a solarium.
- Cosmetologists often advise facial cleansing, usually combining mechanical and ultrasonic treatment. But if the skin is in good condition, then the specialist can simply treat the face with a special antiseptic soap from the “Rose de Mer” “Christina” line immediately before peeling. The use of such soap is more desirable: the substances included in its composition soften dead skin cells, and the peeling effect will ultimately be better.
- Those who have had traces of herpes on their lips in the past need to take a course of antiviral drugs.
- If you have acne or inflammation, do not press on it or injure the skin, otherwise the peeling process will be more painful.
Peeling process
One peeling session may not be enough to achieve a dramatic effect, especially when it comes to removing stagnant spots, scars and post-acne. For oily skin, 4-6 procedures may be required, for normal skin - 2 sessions with an interval of 3 months. For those with dry skin, it is best to repeat peeling no more than once every six months.
You can come to the salon with or without makeup: in any case, the cosmetologist will wash off all the makeup from your face.
The step-by-step peeling procedure is as follows:
- All cosmetics and impurities are washed off. Even if you come to the salon without makeup, the cosmetologist is obliged to clean your face of possible dust, sweat, and sebum. Treatment of the skin with a special softening soap is included in this stage.
- The cosmetologist prepares a mixture in a ratio of 1 to 2 from coral chips and an activator consisting of an extract of medicinal herbs, algae, sea salt and minerals. The finished mixture is applied to cleansed facial skin.
- The mixture is rubbed into the facial skin with massaging movements. Important: if you have discussed light peeling with your cosmetologist, the massage time should not exceed 1–2 minutes. For medium peeling, the duration of rubbing should not exceed 10 minutes. If the cosmetologist acts on the skin for more than 10 minutes, he performs the peeling incorrectly. But keep in mind that this stage is very painful, due to which the perception of time may be distorted. It is better if there is a clock in front of you. Here's what women say about the scrubbing procedure:
- The next step is a wet compress. This is usually a simple damp, cool towel that is left on the face for 10-15 minutes and provides some relief.
- After a wet compress, the peeling mixture is washed off. The sensations may be painful, but not as intense as when rubbing the mixture.
Further variations are possible: the cosmetologist can apply a soothing mask or immediately a gel to consolidate the result. After the procedure, the doctor must apply a thick sunscreen to the skin in the treated area.
