Botox injections into the face are fraught with many ugly complications: severe swelling, ptosis of the upper eyelids up to the complete inability to open the eyes, terrible grimaces like a crooked mouth or ominous “Mephistopheles eyebrows” (with the outer edges raised upward). Having discovered a creepy mask or “balloon” in the mirror instead of a face, victims of botulinum poison are feverishly looking for an answer to the question of how to remove Botox. Let’s say right away: you won’t be able to completely get rid of the poison! It is only possible to speed up the process of its removal from the body. We tell you how to do this.
Indications
Complications often occur for a reason. Typically due to:
- Failure to comply with the recommendations of the treating specialist during the rehabilitation period.
- Incorrect dosage.
- Medical illiteracy
- Incorrect drug injection site.
- Overdose of a harmful substance.
- Using a low quality drug.
Indications for removing the active component:
- asymmetry of zones. Cause: excessive raising of the brow arches;
- diffusion of drugs;
- increased level of lacrimation, severe dryness of the mucous membrane of the eyeballs. Additionally: rapid deterioration of visual acuity;
- ptosis. Result: significant drooping of the upper eyelids;
- increased level of salivation. Additionally: dysfunction of the speech apparatus.
Help: correctly diagnose the cause that resulted from the formation of consequences. Action: quickly correct the situation, determine methods for removing the component from the patient’s body.
Indications for accelerated elimination after an unsuccessful procedure
Sometimes, despite the experience and skill of a specialist, Botox does not apply successfully and the result of the procedure does not live up to expectations. The probability of such a turn of events is less than 5%, but not a single patient is immune from it.
The reason for this may be:
- degree of susceptibility to botulinum-containing drugs;
- development and location of facial muscles;
- presence of undiagnosed hernias;
- old injuries;
- non-standard location of the facial nerve.
There are other possible reasons for unsuccessful botulinum therapy:
- unintentional drug overdose;
- insufficient quality of the drug;
- incorrect actions of the patient himself in the postoperative period.
As a result of an unsuccessful botulinum therapy procedure, unforeseen symptoms may develop , which will make the patient want to immediately get rid of the consequences of the injection:
- facial asymmetry;
- numbness of lips and speech impairment;
- curvature of the corners of the mouth and drooling;
- ptosis of the eyelids - from slight drooping to complete inability to open the eyes;
- eyebrow ptosis;
- all kinds of visual impairments - primarily double vision;
- lymphostasis in the area between the eyebrows.
Sensations of tight muscles and unnatural facial expressions can cause serious discomfort, and a patient who is not ready for this may turn to a specialist with a request to relieve him of Botox.
More serious complications are also possible - allergies, suffocation, anaphylactic shock, etc. Here, emergency assistance from a surgeon and hospitalization of the patient will be required, since there is a direct threat to life.

Is it possible to remove the effects of Botox?
It is impossible to neutralize the effect of the active component in 1 session. Reason: uniform distribution across tissues, synchronization with body fluid. Exercise at home:
- constant intense morning exercises;
- regular cardio training;
- visiting the bathhouse – regularity: 2-3 times a week.
Help: methods to increase blood circulation in the lymphatic system. Result: reduction in the pronounced effect of the component.
Physiotherapy – a technique for removing Botox from the frontal part. Additionally: daily massage. Self-medication is prohibited, reason: deterioration of the situation, continuous monitoring by a cosmetologist is required.
Does Botox work?
What ways can you reduce the effect?
To speed up the elimination of complications, it is worth knowing how to weaken the effect of Botox. To quickly remove botulinum toxin, certain cosmetic methods are prescribed. The following are considered effective: magnetic and electrical stimulation, ultrasound, galvanization and darsonvalization.
- Magnetic stimulation. This procedure is a quick method of removing Botox. During its implementation, the skin is exposed using a hardware method. This neutralizes the effect of the main substance and promotes its rapid elimination.
- To reduce unwanted consequences after Botox, the specialist prescribes electrical stimulation. During the procedure, electric current pulses specifically affect problem areas of the skin. Due to this, muscle activity is restored.
- Ultrasound therapy. Under the influence of ultrasound, the motor activity of tissue molecules accelerates. This method promotes rapid removal of toxins, improvement of metabolic processes and skin restoration.
- Galvanization. Refers to one of the types of hardware massage. During the procedure, the effect occurs specifically on the problem area of the skin, which allows us to weaken the effect of the toxin. The result is visible after 12-14 sessions.
- Darsonval. Its action is based on the influence of weak alternating current pulses. The device improves the passage of nerve impulses and enhances muscle contractions. The result is visible after 10-13 procedures.
Also, do not forget about classic massage. A massage is prescribed depending on the problem area, but a full complex can also be prescribed for the face.
Important! All types of therapeutic measures after an unsuccessful anti-aging procedure are prescribed only by a cosmetologist. Self-medication in this situation is fraught with serious consequences.
To summarize, we can say that, having decided on a rejuvenating procedure with Botox, you should approach the choice of a specialist and clinic with all responsibility. After all, the result largely depends on the professionalism of the doctor. However, if you still find yourself among those who were not spared by complications, then you should not give up. An experienced doctor will help you cope with this situation. After all, it is possible to speed up the removal of Botox and reduce its impact.
Factors affecting the removal of Botox
Cosmetologists do not know how much the active substance in Botox is removed from the body. Reason: characteristics of each patient. Depends on factors.
Factor | Description |
The immune system | Botox is poison for the human body. Result: activation of the enhanced functioning of the immune system, neutralization of harmful substances. Information: good immunity maintains the duration of action of Botox for 4 months. Weak indicator: prohibition of injection |
Patient age category | Age category 50+ requires 1 Botox injection per year. Less - depends on the nature of the visit to the cosmetologist |
Gender | In women, the active component is excreted longer. Reason: minimal activity |
Metabolic rate | If high, the active substance is excreted quickly, otherwise – slowly |
Problem area | The effect quickly wears off in the eye area. Other areas: 4-6 months |
Additionally: volume of the injected component. Result: the minimum dosage is eliminated within 3 months.
Darsonval and Botox: compatibility
To bring the skin into ideal condition, many people use several methods at once: hardware therapy and botulinum therapy. However, you should know whether Darsonval and Botox are compatible. If darsonvalization is performed before Botox injection, this does not affect the effectiveness of botulinum therapy. If the procedure is applied after an injection, its effect is destroyed. Find out which is better: Botox or hyaluronic acid in the article.
Can I withdraw it quickly?
Reason: lack of result. Kinds:
- regular massages and treatments. Principle: gentle massage, high intensity. Result: impact on epidermal cells, restoration of the muscle layer. Recommendations: lymphatic drainage;
- physiotherapy. The principle is based on stimulation of damaged muscles with minimal current pulses. Help: Darsonval and myostimulation are prescribed. Effect: rapid increase in muscle performance, improved blood circulation in the subcutaneous tissue. Consequences: rapid withdrawal of the active component;
- physical exercise.
- Additionally: aerobics class. Action: regular performance of gymnastic exercises – facelifting. Result: impact on the drug injection sites. Tip: regularly turn your head to the sides.
What do products “with the Botox effect” help with?
Marketing strategy today is almost the main engine of trade, so it is no longer surprising to see facial skin care products with the so-called “Botox effect” on store shelves. In advertising brochures they are recommended as an alternative to injections and are assured of almost magical properties. But the composition of such products is far from what is included in the injections. Advertised products usually contain muscle relaxant peptides (argireline, matrixyl, octamoxyl), which can slightly relax facial muscles. The skin will indeed smooth out a little, which has been proven by clinical experiments, but such products are far from the effect of injections.
Use of medications
Prescribed for the effective treatment of botulism: convulsive provocateurs, increases the number of muscle contractions. Help: the treating specialist prescribes antibacterial components of the tetracycline category. Reason: Effectively breaks down harmful toxins. There are contraindications: problems with liver and kidney failure. The doctor prescribes strong antidepressants, hormonal pills, and antiviral drugs. Alcohol consumption
When administering injections of the active substance, cosmetologists inform about the prohibition of alcohol consumption. Help: patients mistakenly imply the process of accelerating metabolism. Advice: ban on drinking alcoholic beverages during the rehabilitation period. Methods to reduce the effects of Botox
The patient can reduce the level of exposure to the active ingredient. Professional cosmetologists prescribe effective procedures. Types of effective techniques:
- magnetic stimulation;
- electrical stimulation. Principle of action: rapid reduction of side effects with incorrect dosage;
- ultrasound therapy. Operating principle: effective impact of ultrasound on the motor functions of tissue molecules. Benefits: rapid removal of harmful toxins, increased metabolism, regeneration of damaged cells;
- galvanization. Advantages: direct effect on damaged areas of the skin. Result: rapid muscle relaxation, removal of harmful toxins from the patient’s body. Disadvantage: 10-15 sessions required;
- Darsonval. The principle of operation is based on the direct influence of small pulses with alternating current. Advantages: the equipment increases the patency of nerve endings and increases the number of muscle contractions. Result: becomes noticeable after 10 sessions;
- classic massage procedure.
Reference: the methods are applied based on the results of a preliminary comprehensive diagnosis of the negative effects of the active component of Botox. Professional cosmetologists prohibit self-medication. Reason: rapid deterioration of health.
What is Botox
Botox is a drug based on botulinum toxin, the strongest natural poison known to science. It is also called sausage poison (a direct translation of its original name Botulinum toxin), as it was discovered as the causative agent of fatal food poisoning from spoiled sausage. Then they learned to produce botulinum toxin on an industrial scale for military purposes as a bacteriological weapon (4 kilograms of this poison can destroy all of humanity) and for the treatment of various neuromuscular disorders.
Botulinum toxin is a powerful neuroparalytic poison. It paralyzes the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles, causing them to atrophy. In medicine and cosmetology, this neurotoxin is used in low concentrations to have a neuroparalytic effect locally. For aesthetic purposes, botulinum toxin is most often used to smooth out wrinkles by paralyzing the target muscles. The muscles do not contract - wrinkles do not form.
But even in microdoses, Botox remains poisonous. It gives both external ugly side effects and health complications, including suffocation and anaphylactic shock. Not only the injection areas suffer, but also neighboring areas and even the entire body. The fact is that the toxin has diffusion properties, that is, it spreads beyond the target zones.
Price
The price of the service is determined individually. There are many reasons.
Factor | Peculiarity |
Complication level | The abundance of side effects requires an integrated approach |
Volume of active substance introduced into the patient’s body | The method of detoxification of the patient is determined |
Methodology | Depends on the level and nature of complications |
Medical Center | The clinic determines the cost independently |
Rehabilitation period | The need is determined by the chosen technique |
Region | Place of residence dictates the market price of services |
Help: Consultation with a specialist is recommended. Tip: registration is made through the administrator of the medical center. Advantages of a private clinic
Advantages: • individual approach; • reverent attitude; • professional doctors; • recording for any time; • low price; • guarantee of results; • professional equipment; • goodwill, focus on results. Additionally: no side effects, quick withdrawal of Botox.
Injection results
After a course of injections, wrinkles on the face are significantly smoothed out, the condition of the facial skin noticeably improves, and this effect can last up to six months.
Many women wonder how quickly Botox works? Visually, the effect of the drug can be seen on your face after five or seven days; it is during this period that the muscles can completely relax. The maximum result is achieved after two weeks, but it is worth remembering that each time indicator also depends on the individual characteristics of the body. After an examination, a cosmetologist will be able to determine how often you should inject Botox in your case.
Recommendations
The consequences can be avoided. Recommendations: • ban on drinking alcohol – 72 hours; • limited physical exercise – 3-4 days after injection of the active component; • prolonged exposure to direct sunlight is prohibited - for 3 days after the injection; • ban on visiting gyms, sports clubs, jogging – 3-5 days after the injection; • stay in a horizontal position – 4 hours after drug administration. Reason: uniform distribution of active components on problem areas of the skin; • visiting a bathhouse, sauna – 3-4 days after the procedure; • it is forbidden to take warm baths or contrast showers for 5 days after the injection; • visiting the solarium – the first 48 hours; • the use of decorative cosmetics is prohibited – 5 days after the injection. Result: prevention of wrinkle formation, lightening of age spots, absence of pain. Consequences: no repeated course of administration of the active component; removal from the body is not required.
How does Darsonval work on the face?
The device is used for acne: internal, purulent, subcutaneous and red acne. Darsonvalization has beneficial effects on the skin:
- promotes restoration of damaged cells, blood vessels of the face and neck;
- draws out pus from the deep layers of the dermis;
- destroys pathogenic bacteria;
- promotes collagen production;
- tightens scars;
- relieves swelling and reduces hematomas.
The duration of the procedures and their number will depend on the characteristics of the diseases.
For acne
For skin conditions such as acne, a drop nozzle is used. The face is sprinkled with special talcum powder, which improves the sliding of the electrodes over the skin. A non-contact darsonvalization method with maximum current intensity is used. In this case, the nozzle is located above the surface of the dermis at a distance of 5-8 mm. The procedure lasts 10-15 minutes. Then you can use the contact method using a mushroom nozzle. The session lasts 7-10 minutes. If a burning sensation appears, the procedure is stopped or the intensity of the current is reduced. After the session, the facial skin is moisturized with a non-comedogenic cream or acne cream for teenagers. The full course of treatment includes 15-20 procedures. The break time is 3-4 months. Advantages of the device: prevents the appearance of new acne, saturates the skin with oxygen, accelerates recovery processes. Disadvantages: slowly leads to a positive result.
Acne and blackheads
Darsonval with a mushroom-shaped attachment helps get rid of blackheads and acne. One procedure lasts no more than 5 minutes. The course lasts 12-15 days with sessions every other day. You can use contact and non-contact methods of influencing the skin, depending on the state of the inflammatory process. Rules of the treatment procedure:
- treat the skin with a special good tonic or antiseptic solution (without alcohol);
- choose a current strength that does not cause pain or discomfort.
Acne and blackheads without visible purulent discharge are treated by contact. The nozzle is slowly carried out with rotational movements. On acne with seals, the electrode is stopped for 3-5 seconds. Before using Darsonval, talc is applied to the skin. Advantages of the device: helps remove acne even during the first procedures. Does not dry out the skin. There are no disadvantages. The best masks for blackheads are collected here.
With a boil
To solve the problem, use a stick-shaped nozzle. The darsonvalization procedure for a boil on the face is carried out as follows:
- the skin is cleansed of impurities and fat with a non-alcohol washing gel;
- the electrode is used by contact or non-contact method (it all depends on the condition of the boil);
- the nozzle moves across the face with translational movements.
The session lasts no more than 5-7 minutes for 10 days. The course can be repeated after 7 days using a mushroom attachment. The advantage of the device: it makes the dermis healthy and eliminates problem areas. Disadvantages: if the power is set incorrectly, it can cause burns.
For swelling and hematomas on the face
Darsonvalization can remove swelling on the face. Darsonval will help you get rid of hematomas and bruises under the dermis after 3-4 procedures. In this case, a contact method is used with delays of the T-shaped nozzle on the problem area for no more than 4 seconds. The duration of the procedure is from 10 to 15 minutes, the total course is 3 sessions. The break is 5-7 days. Benefits: metabolic processes throughout the body are improved, swelling of various stages is relieved. Disadvantages: there is a possibility that the work of the venous vessels will become difficult; the intensity of tingling may be high. The most effective anti-edema masks are collected in this material.
From scars
When getting rid of scars, use a mushroom-shaped attachment. The contact method is applied to the skin for 10-15 minutes. The course consists of 15 sessions. Break 25-30 days. The treatment will be effective if you use additional medications and creams for scars, which are rubbed in 2-3 hours before the start of darsonvalization. The same methods help get rid of scars. Advantages: acts with heat, does not leave discomfort. Darsonvalization does not take much time. Disadvantages: the device does not always cope with old scars.
For wound healing
It is carried out using a non-contact method. The nozzle does not come into contact with the surface of the dermis, being at a distance of 5-7 mm. A spark discharge can cauterize inflammatory foci and renew tissue cells. A mushroom-shaped electrode is used to heal wounds. The procedure time does not exceed 20 minutes. Darsonvalization course – 20 sessions. Treatment is repeated after 20-25 days. Advantages: the device relieves pain and redness. There are no disadvantages.
From spider veins
Couperosis is difficult to fight, but Darsonval solves the problem of spider veins in the dermis. By exposing the affected area to a weak pulsed current of high frequency, irritation of the nerve endings begins. At the same time, metabolic processes are accelerated, which leads first to a contraction of the capillaries, then to their expansion. This method is carried out using a petal nozzle using a contact method. Treatment duration is 10 minutes, with one area taking 2-3 minutes.
In case of pronounced vascular network, a non-contact method is used. The course of treatment is 12-15 sessions with an interval of 2 days. Then a break of 2 weeks and the course can be repeated. Advantages: the device accelerates metabolic processes, strengthens the walls of blood vessels, smooths out wrinkles. Disadvantages: at high voltage, the walls of small capillaries may burst.
For rosacea
The skin with rosacea has a thin and sensitive structure. Darsonvalization is carried out using the contact method with minimal impact power. A mushroom-shaped electrode is used. The total procedure time is from 3 to 5 minutes, after which you can apply rosacea cream. The course lasts 10 days. The break between courses is 2 months. Advantages: the device has a positive effect on the dermis at home, restoring all processes. There are no disadvantages.
With demodicosis
Darsonval is used for facial demodicosis only in complex treatment. Salicylic lotion with zinc and sulfur is applied to cleansed skin 15 minutes before the procedure. A weak pulse current affects the dermis through a mushroom-shaped nozzle. The procedure is carried out using the contact method for 10-15 minutes. The course consists of 10-12 sessions. Advantages: the device activates blood microcirculation, dilates capillaries, kills subcutaneous mites, and has an antipruritic effect. Disadvantages: poorly supplies cells with oxygen. Find out what other treatment for demodicosis exists here.
When purchasing Darsonval, you should pay attention to the quality certificate and warranty period. This will allow you to eliminate defects free of charge in case of breakdown.
For warts and papillomas
Darsonval is used for warts by applying high-frequency current to the skin. The procedure is carried out with a drop-shaped nozzle. A high-power spark passes through the electrode and specifically affects the defect. This leads to drying out of the wart or papilloma. The duration of the session depends on the size of the damaged area of the dermis and is 5-15 minutes. The procedure is carried out once every 5 days. Treatment course is 4-5 procedures. A non-contact method of exposure is used. Advantages: the device prevents the appearance of new formations, improves skin condition. Disadvantages: Prolonged exposure to skin may cause burns.
Face cleaning
When cleansing your face with Darsonval, you feel a slight tingling sensation and the smell of ozone. These factors contribute to the disinfecting effect of the skin and reduce the sensitivity of pain receptors. The procedure is carried out using the contact method, which improves the condition of the dermis, the secretory function of the sebaceous glands, increases elasticity, and removes wrinkles. The procedure lasts 7-10 minutes at medium power. The course lasts 15 days with a break of 1 day. Advantages: the device resumes the functioning of all metabolic processes in the skin. Disadvantages: if the power is set incorrectly, you can get burned. Find out other methods of atraumatic cleaning by following the link.
There are contraindications for the treatment of all skin diseases, which can be found in the instructions for use of Darsonval.
For bags under the eyes
The aging process of the skin can be slowed down with the help of darsonvalization. Darsonval with a petal electrode attachment will allow you to get rid of paint bags. The first procedures should be carried out at the minimum power of the device. The absence of negative reactions will improve performance. The procedure lasts 3-4 minutes per eye. The course is carried out every other day for 2 weeks. Advantages: the device quickly relieves swelling. It can be purchased at an affordable price. Disadvantages: causes itching and swelling of the tissue, which serves as a signal to stop the procedures.
For atopic dermatitis
The structure of healthy and dermatitis-prone skin
Darsonval for atopic dermatitis is carried out using the contact method. The affected area of skin is covered with a napkin and a low or medium intensity current is applied. A mushroom-shaped nozzle is used. The procedure takes 10-15 minutes. The treatment course is 2 weeks. You can repeat it 2-3 times a year with a break of 1-2 months. Advantages: the device has a bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effect, restores sleep. Disadvantages: Temporary exacerbation may occur.
From nasolabial folds
The mushroom-shaped electrode attachment will help get rid of nasolabial folds. The duration of the procedure is 10-12 minutes at maximum power. The course is 20-25 days every day. The treatment course can be repeated every 3 months. Advantages: no pain, affordable. Disadvantages: may cause severe tingling and a feeling of heat.
Stye, chalazion
Chalazion and stye can be removed at home using any Darsonval model. To do this, use attachments in the form of a slingshot, scallop or mushroom. The procedure takes 2-3 minutes per eye. The duration of the course is 15 sessions with an interval of 1 day. Advantages: does not cause discomfort. Disadvantages: causes redness and itching.
For lips
Darsonvalization helps fight herpes. For lips, a strip-shaped attachment is used. The procedure is carried out by contact and non-contact methods daily for 10 minutes. The course consists of 5-7 sessions. Advantages: the device quickly copes with rashes. There are no disadvantages.
Comparison of methods based on speed of action, cost, effectiveness and safety
Using physiotherapeutic and cosmetological methods, you can significantly speed up the process of removing Botox from facial tissues. This will take at least 1 month. complex treatment. In this case, the fastest and most effective way to detoxify tissues is ultrasound therapy, manual massage and lymphatic drainage using hardware equipment.
All methods are safe and have a good stimulating effect on the removal of botulinum toxin from the soft tissues of the face. The average cost of these methods ranges from 300 to 600 rubles. for 1 procedure. Removal of Botox drugs is possible naturally or using cosmetic and physiotherapeutic techniques.
The speed of self-cleaning of tissues from botulinum toxin depends on the person’s age, the state of his immune system, and metabolic level. On average, this process takes at least 3-4 months. In the case of using methods of forced detoxification of facial muscles, the positive effect of getting rid of Botox occurs within 1-2 months.
To get rid of butulinum toxin faster, you will need to follow the principle of an integrated approach with the simultaneous use of several methods of physiotherapy.
Eliminating the consequences of unsuccessful Botox
Side effects require immediate intervention not only from cosmetologists, but also from doctors for the reason that the gel introduced into the lips begins to migrate, gather in lumps, even leads to the formation of bruises on the lips and treacherously interferes with normal facial expressions. It leads to thrombosis of small arteries, inflammation of the lips, their numbness, reduces their sensitivity, and, therefore, urgent restoration of blood circulation and “unloading” of the affected nerve is required.
Unsuccessful contouring occurs for several reasons - the incompetence of the cosmetologist, poor quality of the gel, individual intolerance, a peculiarity of the structure of the lips or a special reaction of the patient’s body.
Restoring the original shape of the lips is an art. It is a mistaken belief that “pumping out” the gel is as simple a procedure as introducing it through the same thin puncture.
To do this, a unique operation is performed in one procedure according to a special scheme. Removing the biopolymer gel as part of this operation is only part of the task. Excess mucous membrane hanging in the area of the upper lip in the form of “curtains” is also eliminated. The biopolymer is removed through an incision on the inside of the lips so as not to damage the vessels and muscles of the lips and not leave a scar on them. After removing the polymer, the operation ends with the creation of a special, subsequently invisible, suture on the inside of the lip. Excess gel is removed not only from the upper lip, but also above it to avoid the “duck mouth” effect.
Unlike biopolymer, modern gel based on hyaluronic acid does not cause much concern, since it is considered not only rejuvenating, but also therapeutic (normalizes metabolism, tones the walls of blood vessels). True, external use of gel with hyaluronic acid unconditionally leads to positive results. It is another matter to use it for internal injections. Hyaluronic acid refers to drugs such as Surgiderm, Restylane, Juvederm 3, Teoseal or Bolotero.
You can get rid of cosmetic filler based on hyaluronic acid using hyaluronidase (longidase), a special enzyme that can remove hyaluron from tissues. The result of injection of hyaluronidase into the problem area can be observed after just a few days.
Getting rid of hyaluronic acid is much easier compared to “eternal” biopolymer gels, since hyaluronic acid is a more natural substance for the body. It is capable of gradually and independently dissolving over some time (6-9 months). To stimulate the non-surgical resorption process, regular injections of enzymes are made, Diprospan, Darsonval are used, or problem areas are exposed to phoresis and microcurrents.
It is useful to know that Botox is contraindicated for pregnant and breastfeeding women, those patients who take antibiotics, people with severe problems with blood clotting, and also if there are any rashes on the lips.
If you want to correct your lips just a little with the help of injection plastic surgery, without getting an asymmetrical “Siberian dumpling”, you should carefully choose a cosmetologist, carefully study the products he uses, just in case, ask how to remove Botox from your lips, and whether this is possible procedure in your region.
But it’s better to understand that it’s not worth subjecting yourself to surgery at a young age because of a momentary desire. Before you inject Botox, remember the old truth - what is natural is not ugly.

- Excessive exercise speeds up blood circulation and metabolism, which is why neural connections are restored faster.
- Accelerated metabolism - good metabolism contributes to faster recovery of nerve endings.
- Visiting a sauna and steam bath - increased temperature increases blood circulation and metabolism.
- Procedures that improve blood circulation and metabolism: plasma lifting, ozone therapy, vascular mesotherapy, electromyostimulation, microcurrents, laser resurfacing and median peelings.
- Genetic predisposition - occurs in 1% of people on the planet, most often in men.
- Taking B vitamins helps to remove botulinum toxin from the body more quickly.

What to do if after Botox not only your eyebrows droop, but your upper eyelids also droop
The occurrence of this situation is associated with a decrease in muscle tone. Swelling of the tissues, forehead and eyelids occurs, as a result of which the eyebrow also droops. Fibers deprived of movement cannot fully carry out the outflow of blood, which is why the soft tissues pull the upper eyelid down.
The recovery process in this case differs significantly from standard treatment. Although sometimes the symptoms may go away on their own, you may still need professional help from a doctor. You should not take any medications without a doctor's prescription.
There are various reasons that influence drooping eyelids:
- The body's reaction to the drug. A large number of injections increases the risk of developing ptosis. Typically, this trend is observed if Botox is used for several years without interruption.
- Exceeding the prescribed dosage. Here the omission occurs due to the fact that the drug was incorrectly mixed or the injection site was incorrectly determined. An overdose contributes to ptosis of the eyelid line and eyebrows. Experts advise doing injections with a small dose of Botox, and if the desired effect is not achieved, then simply repeat the manipulation.
- Uneven distribution in skin cells. After puncture, the molecules of the composition move a short distance from each other. There is a possibility of affecting neighboring muscles that do not need to be relaxed.
This defect is visible to the naked eye. The usual position of the eyelid changes, it goes down.
Ptosis is clearly visible a couple of days after the injection. It can be in one or both eyes, partial, incomplete or complete.
The defect leads to facial asymmetry, and the eyes cease to be fully moisturized. This may cause irritation. In addition, the process of closing the eyes becomes difficult, and heaviness is felt on the eyelids. In order to improve vision, you have to tilt your head back, which greatly strains the muscles and disrupts blood flow.
Elimination of unwanted symptoms is also possible and takes an average of one month. When it comes to more severe consequences, the recovery process can last six months. As therapy, an additional dose of drugs is often used to restore muscles and eliminate asymmetry.
To restore motor functions, medications and various manipulations are used. But surgical interventions in such matters are extremely rarely resorted to. It is always better to seek help from a competent specialist to minimize the risk of unwanted defects.
What are the contraindications for use?
If such a procedure is performed by a qualified specialist who has the necessary knowledge and solid experience, there are usually no side effects.
However, there are cases of serious complications caused by many factors.
The doctor is obliged to warn his patient about the list of contraindications to the use of Botox in order to avoid dangerous consequences and significant side effects. This list includes a ban on the procedure in the following cases:
- pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- glaucoma diseases;
- the presence of infectious diseases in the body;
- the presence of immunological disorders;
- individual intolerance to botulinum toxin and tendency to allergic reactions;
- the presence of dermatitis and other diseases of the epidermis;
- increased body temperature;
- presence of diseases of the hematopoietic system;
- taking antibiotics and anticoagulants;
- the presence of oncological processes in the body;
- epilepsy diseases;
- the presence of foci of inflammation in the area of manipulation;
- atony of the facial muscles (age-related weakening of muscle tissue);
- weakened immune system of the body.
The drug Botox has been in the service of medicine for many years, during which it has repeatedly undergone thorough testing and clinical studies for possible complications. During these experiments, the following facts were established:
- Botulinum toxin used for injections is used in very small dosages, and therefore is not capable of causing botulism;
- in the case of an individual allergic reaction - intolerance to the drug, a rejection reaction may occur, requiring therapeutic manipulation;
- In a large number of cases, after using Botox, the following were observed: skin redness, swelling, and inflammatory reactions.
