Shell

Filler

Types of fillers:

  • Gel. Paragel implants are filled with cohesive gel of varying densities. With this filler, the breasts have natural contours and there is less chance of deformation. The higher the cohesiveness index, the denser the filler. When ruptured, the contents do not spill out. The dense texture retains its shape. The main disadvantages are large postoperative scars and high cost.
  • Saline. Inflatable implants are filled with sodium chloride solution. They are used for patients who have a large mass of breast tissue. They are affordable and require a small incision during surgery. A shell is placed under the mammary gland and then filled with a solution. The disadvantages include the likelihood of displacement and deformation of the implant.
  • Combined. The implant has an inner shell with gel and an outer shell with saline solution, this avoids deformation.

Shell


The implant shell consists of several layers.
