Where can I buy
Unfortunately, in retail trade, including pharmacies, they mainly sell mixtures of oils marketed as sea buckthorn. The content of sea buckthorn oil in products ranges from 5 to 10%, which significantly reduces the beneficial properties due to the low concentration of carotenoids.
You can distinguish a high-quality product by its external characteristics; it has a dark orange color, a thick consistency, and in the refrigerator the liquid hardens, turning into a gel. Therefore, when choosing oil in a pharmacy, cosmetic store, or placing an order online, you need to pay attention to the concentration of carotenoids; it should be above 180 mg/100 g.
Sold in dark glass bottles of 100 ml, price - from 63 to 400 rubles. And Siberica 100 ml living oil with a pipette, intended for hair care, can be bought for 1990 rubles.
Store in a place protected from direct sunlight , at a temperature of 5° to 25°, shelf life 3 years . It is difficult to identify a spoiled product by its external characteristics; it has a specific taste and aroma. Therefore, you need to rely on the information provided by the manufacturer.
Indications for use on the face
Sea buckthorn oil is important for people who have the following problems:
- the presence of pigment spots;
- avitaminosis;
- dry skin that needs moisturizing;
- flaky spots;
- the appearance of premature wrinkles (up to 40 years);
- swelling, chapping of the face.
This unique product can make your face healthy, smooth out wrinkles, heal wounds, eliminate acne and lighten freckles. At the same time, it ideally makes the skin elastic and toned.
Basic rules for using sea buckthorn oil in cosmetology
Sea buckthorn oil is a real miracle worker. It effectively copes with the assigned tasks, making the face visually younger. When fighting acne, this product should be used every day. For other cases, the number of sessions is separate.
To get the desired effect in a short time, you must strictly follow the established rules for using sea buckthorn oil:
- Don't experiment with new recipes. The wrong combination of elements can cause great harm to the skin. Proven methods should be followed.
- Sea buckthorn oil should be purchased at a pharmacy.
- When using a natural product to combat wrinkles, all proportions should be strictly observed. Excessive application of oil can be detrimental to your facial skin.
- Before applying the product, the face must be cleaned of makeup and steamed well. Only in this case, sea buckthorn will give the desired result.
- The mask is considered more effective if it is warm when applied.
- The consistency of the mass should be thick. The liquid will run off, staining your neck, hair and clothes. With all this, the beneficial properties will not have time to be absorbed into the skin.
- If a specific recipe does not specify the frequency of use of the mass, then it should be used no more than 2 times a week.
- To apply the mask, it is advisable to use a cosmetic brush.
- After washing off the mixture, apply moisturizer to your face.
If all points are followed, after 2 weeks a positive result will be noticeable to everyone. Even if the problems are eliminated, it is undesirable to abandon treatment. The course of therapy is at least 2 months.
Is it possible to use the skin product in its pure form?
In order to prevent the skin from turning a deep orange color, I do not recommend applying sea buckthorn oil in its pure form. Must be combined with other beneficial ingredients.
Also, leaving the mask on the skin for a long time can lead to some problems. Carotene will be absorbed into the layers of the skin; removal will take a lot of time and effort. Each mask has its own time limit that must be adhered to.
In cosmetology, there are several situations in which oil can be applied to the skin in its pure form. In case of a burn, apply the product carefully. This should be done once, not for long.
When treating boils, acne, and fighting freckles, the product is applied pointwise. The product should not come into contact with healthy skin, only problem areas.
It is allowed to use oil without additives for chapped lips.
The applied mask, using sea buckthorn and other essential oils, should be on the face for no more than half an hour.
Useful tips
Before using the mask, you must conduct a sensitivity test. To do this, apply a small amount of the product to the skin of the forearm and monitor the reaction. If allergies do not occur, you can apply cosmetics to your face. In addition, masks have a better effect after washing with a cleanser and scrub.

This video presents a recipe for a cream made from sea buckthorn and rosehip oil, which softens and rejuvenates the skin.
Description of the plant
Sea buckthorn is a tree or shrub with characteristic narrow grayish-silver leaves. It is found all over the world: it grows with equal success in temperate climates, harsh Siberia, and the tropics of India and Pakistan. In the Pamirs and especially China, sea buckthorn thickets are located on hundreds of thousands of hectares.
The plant blooms inconspicuously, but the juicy amber berries that have replaced the inconspicuous inflorescences are impossible not to notice. They have a characteristic aroma and a sour, slightly bitter taste. This is a source of valuable oil, which is widely used in medicine, dermatology, and cosmetology.
In Russia, sea buckthorn became known as the royal berry; in Europe, its oil was dubbed liquid gold.
A little history
The authors of the treatise “Shi Bu Idian”, created 11 centuries BC in Tibet, mentioned the healing properties of sea buckthorn. Hippocrates wrote about it in his works. The healing power of the plant was also known to the Slavs: the author of Slavic writing, Kirill, traveling through Bulgaria and Moravia, treated local residents for wounds and burns, using “red oil” - this color is characteristic of sea buckthorn oil.
Sea buckthorn was served to the table of the Russian tsars, for which long expeditions for berries were organized on the banks of the Danube. During the development of Siberia, fruits and oil helped pioneers quickly restore strength, heal wounds, and saved them from diseases, burns, and insect bites.
Siberian beauties actively took advantage of nature's gift: they used masks made from oil and sea buckthorn berries to care for their face and hair, passing on from mother to daughter the secrets of the wonderful berry, which cleanses, nourishes and restores the skin.
Before the Olympic Games, the ancient Hellenes gave sea buckthorn to horses - not only did their strength increase, but their coat also acquired an extraordinary shine.
Contraindications
Sea buckthorn oil is rich in beneficial vitamins, but it has a number of limitations:
- intolerance to a component included in the composition;
- pregnancy, lactation period;
- inflammatory processes in the liver and stomach.
In these situations, the smell of this natural product alone can cause nausea. Allergies to substances contained in the oil provoke a rash on the face. The skin becomes covered with spots and blisters.
To make sure there is no allergy, you need to take a test. Apply a couple of drops of oil to the crook of your elbow. After 10 minutes, wash off. If within several hours no changes have occurred to the skin, you can safely use the product to create masks.
If itching, small red spots, or burning occur, this remedy is absolutely not suitable. It's all due to the coloring effect that the oil has. When using it for application to the skin, you should do everything with extreme care.
Precautionary measures
The only contraindication for use for cosmetic purposes is individual intolerance. When applied to a burn, a burning or tingling sensation may occur.
Before carrying out skincare procedures, you need to test the oil for possible allergies, apply a few drops to your wrist, and wait about half an hour.
In the absence of redness and rash, it can be used to care for delicate skin.
Reviews
“I’ve never had any skin problems. Now suddenly my face is covered with small red pimples. The skin began to peel off greatly. I've tried dozens of creams. To no avail. The cosmetologist diagnosed rosacea and skin aging. I advised adding sea buckthorn oil to the cream. After just a couple of weeks, the dryness went away and the inflammation decreased. I will continue to use the natural component until my skin is completely clear.”

I don't regret it now. This miracle - the product saved me from age spots and freckles. They became less noticeable. The skin has acquired a healthy color. I will also use sea buckthorn for other problems.”

Sea buckthorn oil will be useful for any skin type if you use it strictly according to the instructions. Applying the product randomly will not deliver the desired result.
The natural component should be used on strictly specified days and for a certain amount of time. If you follow simple rules, after a month of the “magic mask”, your face will become cleaner and your skin will look healthy.
