Anesthesia for lip augmentation

Complete pain relief is important not only for the patient, but also for the cosmetologist: when lip augmentation, it is necessary to perform injections and remain absolutely calm. As a rule, one of two types of anesthesia is used, which allow lip correction to be performed comfortably and painlessly:

Applique. For this method, creams, aerosols, foams, gels or ointments containing lidocaine and prilocaine are most often used. For this purpose, the drugs “Emla” or “Akriol Pri” are used. The preparation is applied to cleansed skin, distributed in an even layer and covered with a film. Complete pain relief occurs within 20-30 minutes. Anesthetic applications are suitable for patients who do not have allergic reactions. If the first signs of increased sensitivity appear in the form of rashes, burning, itching, the drug is immediately removed from the surface of the skin and the procedure is stopped.
Conductor. Such anesthesia for lip augmentation has much in common with pain relief in dentistry. Ultracaine, ubestezin, articaine or lidocaine are used. The cosmetologist makes an anesthetic injection into the corresponding nerve. To anesthetize the upper lip, the injection is carried out in the area of the infraorbital nerve - the area of the transitional fold of the mucous membrane between the 3rd and 4th teeth. To numb the lower lip, the mental nerve is blocked. To do this, an injection is made into the transitional fold at the level of the upper edge of 4-5 teeth. The choice of products for giving lips a seductive volume is extremely large. The cosmetologist selects them based on the wishes of the patient and the individual characteristics of the body.

Fillers based on hyaluronic acid

Preparations containing hyaluronic acid are most popular for increasing the volume of problem areas of the face, including lips. The active substance is a completely safe compound for the human body, as it is produced by the body. With age, the synthesis of hyaluronic acid decreases, which is reflected in the drooping of the corners of the mouth, loss of turgor, and a decrease in lip volume.

The easiest way to painlessly sculpt your lips is with a cosmetic pencil, thanks to which you can increase or decrease the contour by 1-2 mm. But it should be noted that with a strong change in the natural contour, the proportions of the face may be disrupted.

The following types of lips are divided depending on the shape of the mouth:

horizontal (classic);
with raised corners;
with lowered corners;
asymmetrical (oblique cut).

Lip shapes are:

normal (classical);
narrow, full (voluminous);
M-shaped;
"bow"

Then a contour is applied with a pencil, thanks to which you can reduce the height of the lips and increase their width. For such adjustments, lipstick in light and bright shades is suitable.

To mask the disproportionate shape of the lips, it is necessary to draw a contour with a pencil, retreating 1-2 mm from the natural boundaries. You can also painlessly model your lips using different shades of lipstick: apply 1-2 shades lighter to the narrower lipstick.

To painlessly model M-shaped lips, it is necessary to adjust the contour in the area of the “bow of Venus” using a mechanical pencil.

In order to create the perfect lip contour, you must perform the following steps:

Step 1. Using a mechanical pencil, draw the perfect V-shaped upper corners of the lips.

How does pain relief and lip correction work?

The main indications for lip contouring include:

too thin lips;

The duration of the entire procedure does not exceed 20-30 minutes. All negative signs of manipulation - hyperemia, bruises, swelling of the skin around the mouth - are absolutely normal during the first 2 weeks. After this they usually disappear.

How is the procedure done?

After antiseptic treatment, an anesthetic cream is applied to the lips, which will take effect in 15-20 minutes. Some preparations already contain lidocaine, so this step can be skipped. In some cases (at the patient’s request), the doctor administers local anesthesia - an injection into the gum (as at a dentist’s appointment).
Using a syringe, the packaging of which is opened in front of you, the doctor injects filler into the corrected area.
At the end of the procedure, the doctor repeats the antiseptic treatment, applies a soothing gel and tells you about the necessary restrictions that will need to be observed after the procedure and gives recommendations for care.
