“Everybody Dance 2” participant Igor Gorbonos: “I will not undertake dangerous experiments on stage!”

Participant of the talent show “Everybody Dance-2” Igor Gorbonos spoke in an exclusive interview for our portal about what is happening in his creative life, musical preferences and taboos. Igor, please tell us what is happening in your life now?

Now I’m doing more staging and fantasy, because the older you get, the more you understand that sometimes you need to think more about self-realization and the product of what you were going to through many experiences and master classes, at the moment I’m preparing for a show abroad, There were also interesting projects in Ukraine. But due to the situation that has developed in the country, the path abroad looks more promising for me, and I’m throwing all my strength there.

What did you do immediately after “Dancing”? Has this project changed your life radically?

Although the “Everyone Dances” project was already 6 years ago and I don’t remember much about it anymore, it gave me a lot of friends, experience and impetus for career growth. After the project, big concerts began with Ukrainian and Russian pop stars, joint work with friends began in the field of choreography... But the experience of the project at STB was invaluable. This is perhaps the main acquisition.

Who and what greatly influenced your career?

My dancing career was influenced only by my character and the desire to out-dance someone, since I spent all my childhood and school years in dance competitions, and my first dance teachers played a big role in my successes, and it was character and perseverance that bore fruit in further successes , despite health problems, failures and temporary pauses... from the musical side, everything is simpler for me...

What are your musical preferences?

I am versatile in the music field. I don’t have any achievements in this direction, but I love going to big electronic music concerts, such as Armin van Buuren and other electronic stars...

What dance style have you not tried yourself in yet, but want to?

I would really like to try myself in the brake dance style. I like the combination of complex tricks, the style and charisma of good dancers performing movements, and incredible physical endurance... Since I am a universal dancer, I hope that I have enough time to try this too.

Are there taboos - what won’t you do even on stage?

As for the taboos, on stage I will not do very dangerous elements or jumps from heights, because I believe that in my profession, and indeed for every person, health comes first.

Have you ever wanted to quit dancing? If yes, for what reason?

Sometimes you want to quit dancing, but this is only when you want to rest and just haven’t had enough of it, but after the second week you are still drawn into the movement, it’s like a drug in the good sense of the word. Over the years, you need to combine the work of a choreographer, choreographer, director, organizer and more, in which case it will not be possible to dance every single day and hour in any case.

Are there any disadvantages to dancing in your opinion?

I see only advantages in dancing, related to the development of the body, mood, musical skills, pleasure and much more, but there is still one big disadvantage - sometimes it is very attractive, incredible, to the point of excessive fanaticism, and then, besides dancing, in life there is nothing, not even family. I believe that everything should always be in moderation, including dancing, relaxation, and family time. But, again, I think this is a minus because of thousands of pluses. I think that I am already a realized dancer and artist. Just looking at my experienced baggage, I feel that I have already gone through a lot, and have performed in almost all concert areas, I have told a lot and I know everything about it from “A” to “Z”.

Igor, do you consider yourself a successful, fulfilled dancer, or is there still something missing for this awareness?

I get a lot of pleasure from my work and hobbies together and look forward to continued success. I think that it is work and what a person does that makes him happy, because in the future the place where he will build his life and the life of his family depends on this, and almost all people need to build on this, and if a person has found a business , which he likes and which he succeeds in, then this is success, and happiness lies precisely in the work he loves.

Can you call yourself a happy person? What is happiness in your understanding?

Having found my favorite activity in life, I can call myself happy from a young age.

Please give your definition of dance.

Having found my favorite activity in life, I can call myself happy from a young age. It takes a very long time to define dance, since it is a different sensation for everyone. For me, dance is a mixture of plasticity and sport, into which you invest emotions... In harmony, you get a very beautiful action, which not everyone can do.

As I was taught since childhood, dance is the expression of feelings using the body to music or to any sounds that are favorable to a person, which is the definition of dance in my case.

What would you like to wish our readers?

I would like to wish all readers to never lose faith in their future successes. I wish everyone to play sports in order to be resilient and beautiful, and never give up in extremely difficult situations. Be healthy everyone!
