Nikolay Ushakov: Thank you for your congratulations! I agree with you - I was more than pleased to receive such a high award, and for the second time. I am sure that not only my professionalism, the high quality of the operations I performed, but also the desire to give people the most natural aesthetic results of interventions helped me become a twice winner in this category.

Over the years of work, I have given the ideal appearance to thousands of patients; Almost always they remained and continue to be satisfied with the results of their operations. Corr.: It’s not surprising that you were twice recognized as the best plastic surgeon in Samara! In addition, you perform almost all types of plastic surgery that exist today.

Nikolay Ushakov: Yes, it is. In order to undergo high-quality plastic surgery, Samara residents do not necessarily have to pack their bags and go to Moscow: I have been performing all types of operations for many years, and at a high level. Facelift, plastic surgery of the nose, eyelids, lips, ears, chin, facial lipofilling, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, liposuction, intimate surgery and much more...

In addition to aesthetic interventions, I also perform reconstructive (maxillofacial), as well as rejuvenating and beauty cosmetic procedures. Even hair transplantation in our clinic is a reality today.

Corr.: Do people from other Russian cities come to you for appearance correction?

Nikolay Ushakov: Of course. Not only residents of Samara, but also Muscovites, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Orenburg and residents of many other cities regularly undergo both rejuvenating and beauty operations on the face and body. By the way, they also come from neighboring countries.

I think all these people would not have become my patients if they had not been confident in my professionalism and integrity. Maybe I'm not modest enough, but that's how it is. You can earn recognition and respect from patients anywhere. In this case, the main thing is a great love for your work and the maximum desire to improve in it.

Corr.: I am sure that the cost of your services, even despite their decent quality, is adequate and acceptable: after all, the standards of living in the capital and in Samara are different.

To undergo high-quality plastic surgery, Samara residents do not need to go to Moscow

Nikolai Ushakov: You are right, prices for plastic and reconstructive surgeries in our clinic are more modest than in Moscow or St. Petersburg, which is quite natural. However, it would be incorrect to say that plastic surgery in our clinic costs a penny. We do not perform breast augmentation for 20,000 rubles or rhinoplasty for 10,000 rubles.

I would also like to note that the cost of services in our clinic, as in any other city, depends on several factors: examinations, the operation itself, anesthesia, the patient’s stay in the hospital, the cost of implants and compression garments if used, rehabilitation procedures. What exactly the price will be for this or that type of intervention can only be said with certainty after a face-to-face consultation.

Corr.: So, you think that high-quality plastic, by definition, cannot cost a penny?

Nikolai Ushakov: Exactly. We carry out operations using the latest methods and technologies, using only proven, reliable and safe technologies and drugs. They are almost never very cheap.

How can we talk about the seriousness of the surgeon and the reliability of the clinic if the patient is offered plastic surgery several times cheaper? I think this should be alarming. As a rule, this means that there is a high probability that you will not receive quality services in such a clinic or from such a specialist. Personally, I wouldn’t risk my appearance and health.

Corr.: On your website you can find many “Before” and “After” photos, and, without exaggeration, they all show only positive results. However, the most impressive ones are from the “Breast Enlargement” series. What techniques do you use most often for breast enlargement? And why?

Nikolay Ushakov: Over the past few years, the technology of breast augmentation using the patient’s fat tissue (lipofilling) has become increasingly popular among aesthetic surgeons. This is, of course, a significant step for world surgery, and I do not belittle the advantages of this method of bust enlargement. However, lipofilling cannot guarantee a 100% result. In other words, filling the mammary gland with the patient’s own fat cells is advisable only in the case of correction of minor breast deformities, as well as when increasing it by 0.5-1 size.

Today, the only alternative to fat cells is silicone implants. Many modern manufacturing companies make products of the highest quality, some of them provide a lifetime guarantee. If a patient wants to enlarge her breasts by several sizes at once, she should pay attention to breast replacement.

Corr.: What approaches and methods of implant installation do you use for breast augmentation?

Nikolay Ushakov: For augmentation mammoplasty, I perform the most commonly used approaches today: periareolar, submammary, axillary. Which type of access is suitable for a particular patient can only be determined after consultation. As a rule, in this case, both the individual characteristics of the patient’s physique and her personal wishes are taken into account.

As for the methods of installing implants, they can be located under the gland, under the muscle, and also under the muscle and glandular tissue simultaneously. When choosing the location of the prosthesis, several factors are also taken into account: the presence or absence of sagging breasts, the characteristics of the skin and subcutaneous tissue and other anatomical features.

Corr.: What operations do you perform on men? And what type of plastic surgery is in greatest demand among the stronger sex?

Nikolai Ushakov: Firstly, I perform absolutely all the same operations on men as those listed above, except for mammoplasty. Although, I also perform interventions in the breast area - I perform operations to remove gynecomastia.

Secondly, most often the stronger sex resorts to nose correction (injuries, accidents and simply a desire to improve this part of the face from an aesthetic point of view). In second place in demand are otoplasty and blepharoplasty. Well, intimate plastic surgery closes the top three most popular operations.

In 1999, Nikolai Gennadievich Ushakov successfully graduated from the medical faculty of the Samara Military Medical Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (SVMI). 2000-2002 – internship, until 2004 – residency in surgery at the Samara Military Medical Institute.

After studying at the St. Petersburg Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education in 2004, Ushakov N.G. received specialization in plastic surgery. In the same year, he completed an advanced training course in reconstructive and plastic surgery. In 2005, he completed advanced training courses under the program “Use of Botox. Injection methods in cosmetology." In 2006, he completed courses held at the V Kosmetik International Congress on endoprosthetics of the buttocks, legs and mammary glands (Moscow).

In 2007, surgeon Nikolai Gennadievich Ushakov completed advanced training courses in Yaroslavl in modern rhinoplasty and the XI course of OPREH in plastic and reconstructive surgery. In 2008, he completed an advanced course in maxillofacial surgery, the V international course in Yekaterinburg in plastic surgery, and the XII course in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
